Mom Camp Week 8 (July 21st - July 28th)

Oceans (July 21st - July 28th)

This week, our summer camp theme is all about Oceans! Your little one is going to want to dive right into these fun activities. Keep on reading for daily activities to do with your kiddos this week.

Supplies needed:

  1. 2 cups of water

  2. 2 cups of vegetable oil

  3. Food Coloring

  4. Large Jar

  5. (optional hot glue)

  6. Paper plate

  7. Cup Cake Liners

  8. Goggly Eyes

  9. Glue

  10. Scissors

  11. Blue Ribbon

  12. Graham Crackers

  13. Blue Frosting

  14. Goldfish Crackers

Monday Craft: The Rainbow Fish

  1. Grab a white paper plate and cut out a triangle shape for the mouth; the cut-out doubles as the tail!

  2. Paint the fish blue or keep it simple and leave it white.

  3. Decorate the scales using what you have at home: crayons, glued-on scraps of paper, cup cake liners or dot markers.

  4. Add a googly eye for extra fun

  5. For a final touch, glue a small piece of aluminum foil for the special scale.

Tuesday Science: Ocean Waves in a Jar

  1. 2 cups of water

  2. 2 cups of vegitable oil

  3. Food Coloring

  4. Large Jar

  5. (optional hot glue)

  6. Combine the water and food coloring in the jar then add the oil and cover tightly. To make a wave tilt and gently shake your ocean in a bottle. Watch the wave action in your jar. You can hot glue the caps on to prevent spills.

Wednesday Snack: Ocean Crackers

Supplies needed

  1. Graham Crackers

  2. Blue Frosting

  3. Goldfish Crackers

  4. Sandwich Bag

Begin by crushing 1 sheet of graham crackers in a resealable sandwich bag

Spread blue frosting on a graham cracker sheet, leaving about an inch at the top without icing

Place goldfish on the blue icing

Sprinkle some crushed graham crackers at the bottom

You can add extras if you have them, maybe a sugar pear for bubbles or a swedish fish

Friday Activity: Ocean Cave Adventure

Grab some ribbon in ocean colors—blues, whites, and silvers. You and your little one can cut different lengths of ribbon and tape them to the side of the table, creating an underwater cave. Then, grab ocean animals, mermaids, and water toys, and head into the cave for some underwater adventures!
