USA (June 30th - July 6th)

This week, our summer camp theme is all about The USA! Little ones will explore foaming chemical reactions, dancing, and even eating the flag! Keep on reading for daily activities to do with your kiddos this week.

Supplies needed:

  • Washable Paint

  • Toilet paper roll

  • Scissors

  • Construction paper

  • Baking Soda

  • Vinegar

  • Muffin tins

  • Dropper

  • Strawberries

  • Blueberries

  • Whipped Cream

  • Hand Flag

Monday Craft: Firework Paiting

  1. You will need washable paint, black paper, empty toilet paper roll a plate

  2. Hold the toilet paper roll vertically and cut one end about ⅓ of the way up. Continue cutting every ½ inch

  3. Fold the cut pieces out to make the firework

  4. Dip in the paint and stamp fireworks on your paper

Tuesday Science: Baking Soda and Vinegar Fireworks

  1. Put a spoonful of baking soda in each muffin tin cup

  2. Place a drop of red and blue food coloring in a muffin tin, leave a few without food coloring for white

  3. Fill a small cup with vinegar and let your child use a dropper to drop vinegar in each muffin cup

* If you don’t have a dropper you can use a plastic throw away water bottle. Poke a pinhole in the lid, fill the water bottle with vinegar and put the lid back on. Your child can now squeeze the vinegar over the baking soda

Wednesday Snack: Flag Fruit

  1. Wash your strawberries and blueberries and get out whip cream

  2. Cut strawberries

  3. Have your child help you arrange the berries and whip cream to make a flag

Friday Activity: Dance Party

  1. Grab a flag, streamer or shaker and put on some fun patriotic music and let the your kiddos bust a move (you can too!)
