Vehicles (June 9th- June 15th)

This week, our summer camp theme is All About Vehicles! Does your little one love making tracks with wheels? Have your little racer drive their vehicles through the paint and onto the paper to create colorful tracks. Keep on reading for daily activities to do with your kiddos this week.

Tuesday Science: Ramps and Roads

  1. Gather up all kinds of vehicles from around the house, cardboard boxes and painters/masking tape

  2. Use the cardboard to make ramps of all different sizes. Have the cars race, observe which go fastest, farthest, and slowest. You could even measure. Talk about why the cars did what they did. Have fun making guesses about what will happen and why.

  3. Bonus - use the tape to make roads and parking lots all over the house

  2. Mix up a bit of mud on your tray. Establish the rules “mud stays on the tray” or “if the mud is off the tray that’s showing me you are all done” “where does the mud stay? That’s right on the tray”

  3. Let children play with the vehicles in the mud

  4. Once they are done with the mud, send the vehicles to the car wash. Fill a bowl or bin with soapy water and let the children scrub the cars clean

  5. Lay them on a towel to dry
