Stroller Strides and Stroller Barre FAQ

Is this just an exercise group of moms that get together to walk?

I love this question - the answer is NO! These classes are no walk in the park. In just one hour you will get a complete head to toe workout that will have you feeling energized and looking fit. Classes are designed for ALL different fitness levels and are taught by certified instructors who are also moms. During our stations we use resistance bands, open fields for drills or obstacles, benches or steps, and anything in the environment to give you a great workout. Don't be surprised if you find yourself using words like "burpee" or "plank" in every day conversation before long!

Can I join Stroller Strides if I am pregnant?

YES, YES, YES! WE encourage expectant moms to continue to exercise through their pregnancy as long as everything has been approved by their physician. Instructors are trained in both pre and post natal fitness and follow the ACOG guidelines. We can modify any exercise that poses an issue as you progress through your pregnancy.

Exercise during pregnancy helps improve or increase:

* Cardiovascular fitness

* Muscular strength/endurance

* Energy levels

* Higher fatigue threshold

* Posture and biomechanics

* Circulation

* Self-esteem, sense of well-being

* Recovery time

What do I need to bring to class?

Other than you, your baby and your stroller....

We recommend athletic shoes, a towel or mat for our ground exercises and plenty of water.

For outdoor classes, please bring a hat and/or sunblock. Don't forget to pack baby some snacks and/or small toys for the ride, too!

Do I need a jogging stroller?

No! While we are BOB jogger fanatics, just about any stroller will do so long as it's not prone to tipping. We do not recommend umbrella strollers since they are not very maneuverable. Our mommies have mastered classes with snap-n-gos and other travel systems!

How long are the Stroller Strides workouts?

The workouts are one hour unless otherwise noted. The class is usually set up with a 5 minute warm up followed by a 45 minute full body workout with the stroller that includes power walking or running, cardio blasts and body toning stations. The last ten minutes is for abs and stretching.

When can I start taking classes?

Always obtain your physician's approval before beginning any exercise routine. We recommend waiting until your baby is at least 6 weeks of age and you have clearance from your physician to begin Stroller Strides classes. Children are welcome up to any age as long as they still enjoy a ride in the stroller.

What if my baby gets fussy during class?

Our first priority during Stroller Strides classes is the happiness of your baby. Tend to your baby first. We stop every few minutes for a new station, so you can always catch up with us if you get behind, and someone will always stay with you to keep you company! Our instructors will do their very best to make the class enjoyable for both you and your baby.

If you purchased an individual or class pass package and your baby is just not "in the mood" we will issue a fussy baby pass - just check in with the instructor before leaving!

What if the weather is bad?

We will only cancel outdoor classes in extreme weather conditions. Please check your email and our Facebook page for weather related schedule changes.

How do I enroll?

Click on "ENROLL." Select the location where you would like to attend. Click on the date that you would like to attend and click "enroll." You will be redirected to a registration page.

If you have not enrolled prior to class or signed the class waiver electronically, you will be able to do son on location before class.

What if I am enrolled and didn't make it to class?

Class attendance is recorded by the instructor at each class, and even if you enrolled, unless you are present you will not be counted. This means that if you are a class pass holder, you will not be charged for that class.

Are your classes peanut free?

We ask that everyone attending class refrain from bringing snacks or other food items that contain peanuts.

Can I take classes while on vacation?

If you are a member of Fit4Mom of Phoenix & Scottsdale and will be going on vacation, please reach out directly to the franchisee that operates that territory.

If you are a member of a Fit4Mom program outside the Phoenix metro area, we would love to have you attend up to two of our classes for free. If you want to attend more than that, contact us for pricing. Please email amyfeltus@fit4mom.com for more information.

Which pass is right for me?

If it more economical to have a monthly membership rather than a 10 block pass if you attend classes more than once a week. The 10 block pass costs you $11/class and at $59/month ($70 if you'd like to try Stroller Barre, too!), once you attend more than 6 classes a month, the membership is more economical.

Passes and memberships are good at any of our locations within the Phoenix & Scottsdale franchise. If you are unsure which pass is best for you, consult with any of our instructors and they can help you decide. You can buy the passes online or from any of our instructors at class.
